PALMERSTON NORTH WOOL, SKIN, AND HIDES SALE.
Abraham and Williams, Ltd., held their usual monthly sale on Thursday, 21st inst., instead of Friday, as the Wellington wool sale is to be held on that day. There was a good attendance of buyers, and wool sold keenly at ruling* rates. Skins of all classes were firm, and in some cases showed a rising tendency. Hides sold at ruling rates. We quote:— Wool, KB B*d to 9|d; lambs, 9d to lOJd; locks, 3|d to 4|d; pieces, s£d to 7jd; dead, 7£d to B*d. Skins— Xß coarso id to 3d; woolled 8:] d; KB medium, 9Jd ; merino, Bjd ; lambs, 9d; butcher's lambs, Is 6d to 2s 6d to 4s; pelts, bare 7£d; dead, 7d to 7id; butchers, Is 9d to 2s 5d to 3s to 3s 9d to 4s 7d; butcher's lambs, Is 6d to 2s 4d. Hides— Calf, 4£d to 6^d to 7d per lb ; yearling, 5d to sgd per lb; ox, s|d to 6d; cow, o|cl to 6d; bull, to 33s 9d. Tallowin tins, 17s 3d per cwt ; casks, 18s 6d to 22s 6d per cwt. Bones 3s 6d per cwt.
