According to the Daily Mail, letters patent in connection with the new Transvaal Constitution will cancel the Labour Importation Ordinance. This is done in order to prevent Coolies re-engaging after the completion of their three years' service. Mr Gladstone states that Ihe Immigration Board admitted a batch of Chinamen, particulars of which were mentioned in a recent cable, on the ground that employment in laundries would be promised to them.
