« NEW LODGE AT KIMBOLTON. The Wanganui district 1.0.0. F., M.U., opened a lodge at Kimbolton yesterday evening. The district officers present were: — G.M., Bro. Pawson, Deputy Master, P.P.G.M. Bro. Parker, Acting Q.S. Bro. Salek. G.M. Bro. Pawson occupied the N.G. chair; P.P.G.M. Bro. Parker V.G. chair; P.P.G.M. Bro. Aitken, R.S. to N.G. ; P.G. Bro. J. Nix (Apiti), L.S. to N.G. ; P.G. Bro. Jpnes (Feilding)? R.S. to V.G. ; N.G. Bro. McKay, L.S. to V.G.; Bro. Hare, Warden; Bro. Roberts, Guardian; L.S. Bro. Salek, P.G. A large number of visiting brethren were present from Feilding, Apiti, and other centres. Apologies were received from D.G.M. Bro. Thurgood for non-attendance through sickness. Twenty persons were then proposed • for membership and duly elected, P.P.G.M. Bro. Nix acting as Lecture Master, and Bros. J. Nix and McDerniitt conductors. The lecture was given by the District Master in a very impressive manner. After the members were duly initiated, the following brethren were elected to the various chairs: — G.M., Bro. Stackhouse; N.G., Bro. Wallace; V.G., Bro. McMurtric; P.S., Bro. Jenkins; E. 8., Bro. Bainbridge; treasurer, Bro. Capper; Warden, Bro. Moves. It was decided to call the new lodge Loyal Kimbolton Lodge, and i to be .held every Wednesday fortnight m the Druids' Hall. The C.8., Bro. Salek, then installed the newly elected officers in their respective chairs in a very imposing manner, and congratulated the lodge on electing such enthusiastic members to the chairs, to which the officers suitably replied. P.P.G.M. Bro. Parker, on behalf of the Loyal Manchester Lodge, conveyed fraternal greetings to the newly-opened lodge, and wished it every prosperity. P.P.G.M. Bro. Nix, on behalf of the Loyal Apiti Lodge wished the lodge every success. A telegram was received •from Bro.. Reid, Loyal Bunnythorpe Lodge, sending fraternal greetings and prosperity. The meeting then adjourned to a very enjoyable banquet, when the following toasts, songs, e£p., were given. "The King" (musical honours), an overture by Mr Bain and Mr F. Barlow (clarionet); toast, "Visiting Brethren," responded to by Bros. Nix and Parker; song by Bro. Guy (encored); toast, "Wanganui District," responded to by G.M. Bro. Pawson- and C.S. Bro. Salek, who, in their remarks, stated that the disrict was the only one in, New Zealand at the present time which was making greaf strides in initiating members. Bro. Salek impressed upon the members the benefits to be derived from the order, besides getting' assistance as sick pay, but at friends in whom" you pould confide as. brothers. ' Songs by Bro.
