ASSOCIATION.
The first round of the Banner eon* test was played at Palmerston yesterday, when Feilding met tiie looal team and mansged to add another win to their credit. The Feilding men kicked off, and from a scramble, in their own quarter the ball was handled by one of tiie Feilding men, and Palmerston was awarded a penally kick, which they converted into a goal The Feilding forwards having settled down, managed to oarry the ball to the Pahuerston end, where Potts just managed to slip the ball through. Soon after the whistle sounded for half-time, and the game stood one goal each. In the second spell things got very lively, both teams playing a hard game to try and. get the lead. Soon, how-' ever, FeUding proved themselves superior, when, with a combined forward effort, Potts managed to score goal number two. Shortly .after FeUding scored again. This was. the best goal of the match, and the Feilding men were much disappointed when the referee ruled off-side, and awarded Palmerston a free kick. For the remainder of the game FeUding had tiie best of H» and Walker, with a splendid shot, scored one more goal, the game ending— FeUding 3, Palmerston 1. For Palmerston, Butcher, Duncalf, and BwaUow were the pick; whUe for FeUding, Cartwright, Andrews, Nelson, and Walker played well
