THE CREATION.
* It is an ambitious effort on the part of the FeilcUng Choral Society to procure a work like Haydn's "Creation." This oratorio is considered a most difficult work for even old experienced musical institutions. However, judging from the previous performances of our society, we have eveiy confidence that full justico will be done to the work undertaken. Arrangements in connection with the forthcoming concert are most complete. The committee, with their usual commendable foresight, have engaged as principals the very best it is possible to secure. They are very fortunate in the engagement of Miss Amy Murphy, New Zealand's prima donna. This will be her first appearance in Feilding, and her name alone should be sufficient to .ensure a packed audience. Mr Leslie Hill, Wellington's leading tenor, will also make his first appearance here in conjunction with Miss Murphy. In Mr J. W. Ryan, of Auckland, Feilding people will welcome the popular basso of " The Messiah " two years ago. Altogether the combination of soloists is exceptionally strong and supported by a thoroughly disciplined chorus and a large orchestra, the success of the oratorio is assured. The date of the concert is Thursday, August 2nd.
