Per Press Association. New Plymouth, Monday. The valuation for the Taranaki County is 41,995,859, the increase for the year living £342,841. A heavy gale, which commenced yesterday, has so far dono very little damage. The wind has dropped a trifle and it has ceased raining, but the weatht-r is very cold. Wellington, Monday. In the Appeal Court this morning, the case St. Hill and another Versus St. Hill, removed into the Appeal Court for argument, was allowed to stand over, as fresh evidence is likely ioibe put liefore the Court. The case will probably bo adjourned until the next sitting. The case. Gardiner and Sons versus Mair was set forward, as appelant's counsel waß absent, believing 1 that the Court would be occupied by the St. Hill case all day. InvercargiU, Monday. The police to-day raided the premises known as the Shamrock Hotel and seized a keg of beer and a small quantity of whisky. r
