Messrs Freeman R. Jackson and Co. report : — % At our Wanganui sale on Wednesday, 11th instant, we yarded 260 cattle, 2000 sheep, and 80 pigs,. Bidding wae dull at auction, but we sold all the sheep after the sale,, except a few ewes, at somewhat lower values of late. Some first-class hoggets and ewes were yarded. Cattle were dull of sale, but pigs sold at advanced rates. At Waverley sale on Friday, 13th instant, we yarded 120 cattle and 800 sheep. Very few lots of cattle changed hands, but we quitted the sheep ai satisfactory prices. We quote : — At Wanganui — Fat cows, good, LS 11s to L 5 16s, medium ditto L 4 10s tc L 5 7s, 3£-yr forward bullocks L 4 18s, 15 to 18 month steers L 2 2s, 2-yeai heifers 27s Od, yearlings 19s, empty cows 36s to 40s. Mr Nash's milch cows (best) L 6 5s to L 7 10s, medium ditto L 5 5s to L 6, others L3 lss to L 5, backward calrers £3 to £3 10s, other lots L 3 10s to L 6, fat wethers 19s to 20s, good ewe Lincoln hoggets 14s 6d, good Lincoln wether hoggets 12s Id, mixed hoggets 11s, small mixen wethers 10s, empty ewos 9s 9d, medium ewes in lamb 10s to los, good Lincoln 4 and 5 year ewes in lamb 21s 6d, 2-tooth ewes in lamb 21s. Pigs : Baconers 38s to L 2 4s, best porkers 20s to 31s Gd, sows in pig (poor) 34s to 38s 6d, store pigs 16a Od to 20s, weanera 10s to 12s. At Waverley — Fat and forward cows L 3 3s 6d, 18-inonths mixed cattle 28s, ditto heifers 275, well-bred cows in calf L 3 7s, weavers to-yearlings 2Gs, springing cows Lo to L 5 12s Gd, purebred Lincoln ewes (bred by 'Mr Riddoll) 31b, stud ewes in lamb (bred by Mr Riddell) 2}gs, stud rams (6-tooth) B?gs, ram hoggets (bred by Mr Riddell) 348, 2-tooth to f.f.m. ewes in lamb to Romney rams 25s Gd, empty ewes 8s Id, good 2-tooth to full-mouth ewes in lamb 20s.
