Christchurch, Wednesday. At the Addington live stock market to-day there were fairly large entries of stock in most departments' and a good attendance. Fat cattle sold-well. Store sheep were in strong demand. Prime fat hoggets were hardly equal to the previous week's rates, and fat sheep were easier. Pigs of all classes met with a better sale, as did store cattle. Store sheep. — The principal sales were— 374 4-tooth ewes 27s Us, 130 sound-mouth 20s, 530 at 19s Gil, 1180* 2 and 4-tooth half-bred wethers 18s lOdto 20s 2d, 300 2 and 4-tooth wethers 20s, 80 at 19s 7d, 74 ewe hoggets 17s 2d, 1500 in different lots 14s Gd to 16s Id, 300 shorn at 13s 6d. Fat Hoggets — Prices being 17s 6d to 21s, extra to 24s 9d, lighter 14s 9d to 17s. Fat sheep — The range of prices were. — Good to prime wethers 23s to 265, extra to 28s, tighter 19s Cd to 22s 6d, prime heavy ewos 20s to 225, extra to 24s 3d, medium 17s to 19s, aged 14s to 16s Cd. prime merino wethers l(is to 18s 6d, medium 14s to 15s, medium merino ewes 21s 9d. Fat cattle — Steers brought £6 7s to £11 15s, heifers £4 17s 6d to £8 15s, and cows £4 12s 6d to £9, equal to 21s to 24s*for prime and 19s te 20s for inferior and medium, per 100 lbs. Veal calves sold at 7s 6d to 50s. Store and dairy cows 15 to 18---montho sold 27s to 25s 6d, 2-year-old i stuers £3 0s (fcl, 30-month steers £4 I ss, dry cows 17s to £2 Bs, Dairy cows were rather dull of sale at £4 to £7 15s for inferior to good aud up to £9 10s for a better class. Pigs. — Heavy baconers made 45s to 555, lighter 38s to 42s 6d. equal to 3|d and 4d per Ib. Porkers 27s to 35s 6d, lighter 23s to 27s Cd, equal to 4£d to 4Jd per lb : large stores 20s to 28s, medium 10s to 18s Od, and weaners 5s to 9s.
