KIMBOLTON SCHOOL

A very pleasant function was held in this school yesterday. The local branch of the Farmers' Union kindly donated two guineas, which the School Committee sanjpißmented with .one guinea to provide prizes tot the three best kept plots in the school garden. Messrs Jacobs and kindly consented to/judge in the spring and autumn respectively. Mr Jackson (Chairman of the Sohool Committee), Mrs Jackson, and ICisa Molly Jackson attended at the school to present the prizes to the successful competitors.- Mr Jackson; in a few well ohosen remarks, complimented the winners and encouraged the others to try again next year. He also said that the Committee would endeavor to arrange to take some of the scholars to the Winter Show in Palmerston N, Mrs Jackson then handed the prises to the winners :— Ist prizes, gold brooches^ Olga Haggarty, Clara Tucker; fSoA prizes! gpld brooches : Myrtle Carter, Evelyn Raddeley ; ties for Brd prizes, silver brooohe3: Grace Scott and Maggie Robertson, Eva Baddeley and May Poole. The singing of Aufci Lang Syne, and cheers for Mt and Mrs Jackson, tha Farmers' UniOb, Sohool Committee, the headmaster (Mr Astbury), and Wai Watte, brought the very pleasant proceedings to a close.
