FEILDING CHORAL SOCIETY.
The annual general meeting of the above society was held last evening at the Public Library Boom, when there was a good attendance of the members. A statement in conneotion with the recent performance of the " Messiah " was read by the Treasurer and adopted, showing a substantial balance in hand after all expenses were paid. The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted as follows: President, Mr F. P. Haggit; Vice* Presidents, Messrs 6. Bartholomew and A. Richmond; Conductor, Mr H. Temple White ; Pianist, Mrs A. Richmond; Librarian, Mr F. G. Billman ; Treasurer, Mr A. Richmond; Secretary, Mr D. Haswell; Assistant secretary, MrE. F. James; Committee, Mesdames SherwiU and Barltrop, Misses Coombe and Bray, Messrs J. B. Pickering, A. £. Wilson, J. Campbell and H. Downes ; Deputy Conductor, Mr G. Bartholomew; Deputy Pianist, Mrs SherwiU. It was resolved that the Oratorio, (( The Creation," be rendered at the next concert given by the Society and that the first practice be held on Monday, February 12. Votes of thanks were tendered tbe Conductor, the Pianist, the Secretary and others who had helped to make the Messiah Concert so sueceseful. The Conductor and Secretary were each voted a bonus in recognition of tbe work done by then). The meeting was very enthusiastic and the prospects for the year are most encouraging. <*
