This Day. At the Fire Brigade Conference yesterday afternoon the AttorneyGeneral was advised that the Gov ernmenfc proposed to introduce a Fire Brigade's Bill early in next session. A committee was appointed to make inquiries into the various claims of members for long service medals. Captain Eagleton, Napier, read. 4 paper on the suppression of fires. Four gold stars were presented to members for 25 years' service. The resolution in competition conditions Rule 12 was altered to read " That either party shall have the right of appeal to the Conference against a decision of the protest committee." The rule in regard to the highest aggregate points was altered. Remit from Greymouth— To recommend that the ladder face \>% won in pairs against tim.e was agreed to.
