GREYMOUTH HOTELS

. — • Telegraph Press Association Copyright Greymouth, This Day. At tbe conclusion of the business at tbe Licensing Beach, tbe chairman, on behalf of tbe bench, said that during the past year there had been a marked improvement t in the general conduct of licensed premises, and he complimented the licensed victuallers as a body for the commendable manner in which they had conformed to the requirements of the Licensing Act. Hotelkeepers in this district evidently making strenuous efforts to obey tbe law and on the result being obtained, they were deserving of high praise. The police also deserved speoml commendation, as they had striotly carried out their duties, but in a judicious manner, and although at times the people may have thought they were acting harshly it must be remembered that they were only fulfilling their duty in seeing that the requirements of the law were being properly observed.
