LICENSING POLL

The Pohangina, North, and Coal Creek results came to hand last evening. The totals now are : — Continuance, 1806; reduction, 1452 ; No-license, 2581, which leaves 91 required to carry No-license. The above figures include several of tbe absent votes. There are a few more to arrive, but these, cannot alter the result. Newtown (Wellington) missed carrying " reduction " by 46 votes. Wellington East was only 297 votes short ot " no-license." At Kaiapoi the figures are : Continuance, 1722; reduction, 2058 ; no license, 2868. The total valid votes were 4095. Reduction has been carried by six votes, but there are 20 absent voters' permits to oome. The New Zealand Alliance asserts that the figures received in connection with the no license poll so far show that the license vote of 1910S exceeds the 1902 vote by 15,982, while the no-license vote of 1905 ; exceeds the no-license vote of 1903 by 25,914. This sbows that tbe nolicense balance was 9982 in excess of the balance for license. If to this balance of 9982 there be added a balance of 8078 to the oredit of the no license vote in 1902 the total balance in favour of no-license is 18,060. Returns hate yet to come from Bruce, Mount Ida, Bicearton, Invercargill, and Wakatipu, but they will probably not alter the proportion. \
