The above met last evening. Present ; Mr F. F. Haggitt (Mayor), Ors. Grantham, Burne, Dunlop,West, Williamson, Chamberlain. Mr G. J. Webster, the newly ap* pointed engineer was also present. Water Foreman's Report. The Water Foreman reported as follows : — Everything is satisfactory at the intake and tunnels. He has finished the cleaning out of the gallery pits which had been partly filled up with silt. The reservoir is still leaking slightly. The septic tank and outfall sewer work is proceeding satisfactorily. Also recommending that trespass notice boards be placed at the reservoir and store yard. Sewerage Foreman's Report. Forty-five man holes have been constructed under his charge at a cost of L2ll 10s. Sewerage excavation : 170 chains have been done for L 666 15s 9d, which works out at Is 2Jd per foot for labour only. Renewal : 216 chains have been done at LB7l 18s 7d, or Is 2| d per foot. By next meeting all the new and renewal works east of Makino stream will be finished, except a few more improvements to manholes. Abattoir Report. Stock slaughtered as follows during the month of November : Cows 86, condemned 1 ; bullocks 88, con demned 1 ; calves 4, swine 46, sheep 336, condemned 3 ; lambs 88.
