Samuel Alexander, against whom there was one information for selling liquor in a prohibited district was sentenced to two months imprisonment. This is the second time that Alexander has been sentenced to imprisonment for the same offence. Julia Hylands two informations) was fined LlO and costs on tbe firsthand a conviction entered on the second. Tbe police are to make enq nines into the evidence of one wiine-s for the defence, with a view to further proceedings, the Magistrate remarking that he did not believe his evidence.
