» The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report : —We offered 2000 skins, 300 hides and calf skins, quantity of bag wool and tallow. There was a good attendance of buyers, and competi. tion was brisk for all sound pelted skins and for sound hides. We quote : Skins, merino, halfbred, and fine crossbred B_d to 9d, coarse crossbreds B|d to &£, dead skins 6£d to 7fd, short wools and inferior pelts 5d to 7d per lb., green skins 6s 6d to 8s 6d, lambs 2s to 2s 2d, pelts ls to 2s 3d each. Hides were { m good demand and sold at an advance on last sale's prices. We quote: Ox 6d to s£d, cow 4£d to sfd, slippy and cut hides S_d to 4|d, calf sound 5d to 6&d, cut and damaged 2d to 4£d per lb. Tallow in tins 16s Od to 17s 6d, casks 21s per cwt.
