LUXURIOUS TRAINS.

The Groat Wertern Railway Company on June 28th ran a trial trip with its "Cornishman Limited " express, which commenced to run between London and Penzanco on July 1. A3 was tbe case last season, this train will achieve the world's record long distance non stop run between London and Plymouth, 246 miles in 265 minutes a speed of 55.7 miles per hour. Three entirely new trjiins have been built (or the service, compoeed of the largest and most palatial vehicles ever yet seen in the country. Each coach is 70ft long, and 9Jft wide. A train is made up of six coaches, with a total seating capacity for 268 passengers, divided between 36 first class and 232 third class. Second class passengers will no longer be carried by this particular train in either direction. Every seat in the train is numbered, and tho passengers will receive a perforated ticket, half of which will be torn off by tha guard, and slipped, so that it cannot be removed, into a little plot at the hack of the seat, just above tbe head. The fittings of the train are of the most sumptuous description. Electric ligbt and electric fans ars found everywhere The chief feature of the train, however, is the fact that for the first time in the history of British railways valets and lady's maids are earned, in addition to guards and dining car attendants. The lady's maids are neatly at tired in a black alpaca dress with whito linen collar and cuffs, a nurso's bonnet, fancy apron, and a badge in silver thread inscribed : "G. W. R Lady's Attendant. ' The valets wear a pmart serge uniform. The maids will constantly patrol tha train to render services to ladies and children, and they will specially watch over ladies travelling without an escort. The valets will do everything for tbe male passenger's comfort, and at a pinch are prepared to clean his boots. The new French De Glehn fourcylinder compound locomotives, the largest and most powerful engines yet 6een in England, will be employed on the service.
