LADIES' GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP
Telegraph Preaß Association. Copyright Napier, August 25. The ladies' golf championship tournament was concluded today. There was a large number of spectators to witness the final for the championship, which was played by Miss Lewie, of Auckland, the present champion, and Miss Stevenson, of New Plymouth. A splendid game, in which some capital play was shown on both sides, resulted in a victory for Miss Stevenson by 1 up at the 18th hole. A driving competition, for which there were 89 entries, was held, Miss Campbell (Christchurch) winning with a drive of 145 yards, Miss Gould (North Otago) being second with 144 yards, and Miss Hannay rapa third with 142 yards. The approaching and putting competition resulted in a win for Mrs Bidwell (Wairararm), Miss Hatcourt (Wellington) being second.
