Telegraph. Press Association. Copyright Brisbane, July 23. The weather for the second match between the British footballers and Australia wasbeautifully fine, with a strong wind blowing down field. The attendance was estimated at 16,000. Wickham captained the Australians, ana winning the togs fnm vMorgan, decided to play with the wind in their favour. Both sides opened with great dash,; arid the combination was excellent.' Fora time neither side had any advantage. Then the Britishers were penalised, and Manning, smartly foUpwing, smothered the return, and the ball rolled over the line, Burden falling on it, thus registering first blood. Redwood was entrusted with the kick at goal, but failed to increase the points. Australia 3, Britishers nil, was the score when half-time wascallod. Resuming, ihe Britishers I forced the play, and at times the game became very rough, especially towards the finish. During this spell several men were hurt, though a none seriously. The Australian line was repeatedly threatened by the; passing rushes of the British forwards, and then Bush got- possession;; from a scrum r and, stalling off all attacks, scored near the corner. Harding took the kick at goal, but the attempt failed, and the scores were, three each. Shortly after ; Bush again secured the ball, and;. drppped a beautiful goal from 'the half-way flag. Britain 7, Australia 3. Fast play followed, and the visit-, ing captain marking |tf|ft6ht of the posts, Bush again 4p^te* a goal. Britain 11, Australii^^^ _ ; McKinnon kicked ofiffand a nice piece of passing which followed between Llewellyn, Morgan,' and O'Brien ended by the latter scoring. Harding again failed at goal. Britain 14, Australia 3. . A little later on Llewellyn, crossed ■ the line, and Bush was igiven the kick, but he too failed to secure the major points.
