At a special meeting of the committee of the Otago Rugby Union to consider a communication from the New .Zealand Rugby Union, it was resolved, by 9 votes to 4, "That as the New Zealand Union is not prepared to grant the same terms for the use of the ground in Dunedin for the purpose of the match against the British team, as it had arranged to pay for the-, use of the grounds in Wellington and Christchurch, the committee agrees to its demand that the terms quoted by the Otago Union in its letter of November 19th, 1902, shall be adhered to, and requests the New Zealand Union to intimate what it regards as a fair proportion of the rent which should be paid by it for the use of the ground."
