Shaw, who was awarded the medal for the best shot in the North Island, was severely injured by a spark firing a keg of powder in a quarry at Mackaytown. It is feared his eyesight may be permanently injured. This Day. The man named Gladding, who was injured at Morrin's fire by the fall of a wall, died in the hospital to-day. Dunbdin, This Day. Michael Fleming, aged 90, a wellknown produce merchant, died last night. Stkatford, This Day. The young man Rountree, thrown from his horse in Broadway on Thursday, remained unconscious, and died last night.
