A ROUGH PASSAGE.

Telegraph Press Association. Copyright GisBOBNE, This Day. The Hon James Carroll and party who visited Tologa yesterday, spent a most uncomfortable night aboard the small steamer Nautilus. They left Tologa at 6 p.m., expecting to reach Gisborne in four hours, but shortly after leaving a southeasterly gale sprung up, with a tremendous sea. Owing to the absence of a light on Tuahine point the steamer was unable to make for the port, and had to cruise about all night, the sea sweeping over her. There was no cabin on the steamer, and the excursionists were compelled to remain on deck without shelter, being drenched to the skin by the rain and tho sea. Gisborne was reached at 9 a.m.
