At a meeting caused by advertisement the Rev Tremayne Dunstan explained the reason which led up to his departure and subsequent return ' to Australia. He said it was owing ■ to a financial difficulty which had arisen in connection with establish- ' ing a church in Westralia, and his. ' liabilities in this connexion had ( gradually increased, and, having to pay exorbitant) ia^resfc, the hnrdeft became so, intolerable that it led him info t(he fatal blunder of leaving under the belief that be could re* cover himself by a lecturing tour in America. When he realised his blunder, he decided to return and face the situation. He stated that his total indebtedness was under £3900. He believed he could clear himself. He> complained of the harsh treatment from his New South Wales congregation, and repudiated charges of hishonesty and trickery ' that were current in certain quarters. : He admitted he bad blundered, but was not guilty of any intentional act of dishonesty. : This Day.
