Coronation Celebrations.
TO THE EDITOR. Sm, —ln reading your report of the meeting of townspeople held last night re Coronation Celebrations, I was a little surprised to see it there stated that the United Service was to be held in the Drill Hall. I take it, Sir, that this is the most important event in the day's proceedings, and I fancy the Drill Hall will not hold half the people who will be present; and further down the report it says that the Service at the Church of England should be included in the programme of the day's proceedings. Now, Sir, I should like to know why this is being done? Is the United Service in the Square not sufficient for one day? On the night this meeting was held all the Protestant Ministers in the town, with one exception, were attending the annual meetingof the Salvation Army Rescue Work, so could not be present at the citizen's meeting, which unfortunately fell on the same night. Hoping for a large attendance at the next citizen's meeting, when perhaps a satisfactory explanation will be given, I am etc., George Bartholomew. June 10th, 1902.
