THE CORONATION.
Telegraph Press Association Copyright London, June 10. The Lord Mayor of London presided at a great meeting at the Mansion House to arrange for a Corona tion gift to the King, who desired that it shall be given to the Hospital. It was resolved to open a national fund, and £55,000 was subscribed at the meeting. Fourteen hundred troops representing the army in South Africa, are aboard the transport Bavaria, and are expected to arrive on the 25tb, in time to take part in the Coronation festivities, if the vessel makes a fast passage. Captain Mac Donald, Lieuts. Blair, Hardham, Wilson, and 01 New Zealand Mounteds, also Captain Taranaki, Lieut Uru, and 31 Maoris are passengers by the Kinfauns Castle from Capetown to England. Later. The King has notified the Corporation that he would prefer contributions to the Hospital fund instead of of addresses of congratulation on the peace. Sydney, This Day. The Protestant churches have arranged for united services in the Town Hall on Coronation day. Gisborne, This Day. The Borough Council decided to erect an Old Men's Home as a Coronation memorial.
