ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
» . Telegraph. Press Association Copyright Auckland, This Day. At Matauri Bay, Harry Span hake was killed by a log passing over him. His mate Ned Bowyer was slightly injured. Christchurch, May 1. Wuzerah, an Indian, 80 years of age, who came to the colony with the late Sir Cracroft Wilson, and who has resided ever since on the Cashmere estate, was found dead yesterday. Death was due to heart disease. Guard James Hudson fell off the Lyttelton-Christchurch train last night in the tunnel. He was found unconscious in a drain beside the rails, but soon afterwards recovered consciousness. His injuries are not dangerous. This is the second accident of the kind in the tunnel within a short space of time ; tbe previous one proved fatal.
