THE LATE CECIL RHODES.

. «. His Burial. Telegraph. Press Association. Copyright. Capetown, April 11. It was a picturesque procession j through the hills and gorges of the Matoppos to Cecil Rhodes' grave, cut in the rock on the summit of a steep kopje. Twelve oxen finally drew the coffin to the graveside. The Bishop of Mashonaland consecrated the grave, and officiated at the burial. : One thousand whites and two thousand natives witnessed the obsequies. The late Cecil Rhodes' grave is three feet deep in the rock, encircled by huge boulders. A. weird wailing was kept up by the natives while they were sacrificing oxen, similar to the rites observed on the death of a chief of the Unsiligagi. The spectacle was very touching. Sekomba, an Induna orator of the Matabele natives, eulogised the memory of Mr Rhodes.
