Wellington, January 14. Besides the Federal Contingent, Sergeant Major Cardale, Privates Willis, McGregor and Crump, and Trumpeter Brown, of the First Contingent, arrived in the Tutanekai to-day. At a meeting of the Reception Committee, it was decided to telegraph to the Acting-Premier asdriug tbat, if possible, ifc should be arranged that the Orient witb the returniug troopers should arrive off the Heads some time on tbe nigbt of Monday, the 21st, so that she could enter at high water between three and four next morning. After parade and sports at Forbury, it was decided to entertain tbe returning soldiers at a social in the evening. Brisbane, January 14. Arrangements have been made by winch the Queenslanders will be taken off tbe s.s. Orient in the Bay, and the vessel will be sent to New Zealand without delay. Sydney, January 14. The New Zealand troops left by the Orient this afternoon via Brisbane, a party of New Zealanders aboard. Mr Wbiteford's launch accompanied them down the harbour. The returning soldiers were cheered by the man'o-war's men as they passed tbe fleet. Latter on the Britannia, with the Imperial men, got away, but remains in the harbour till tbe morning. She also goes to Brisbane. The Governor, Mr Barton, and other notables took a farewell aboard the vessel.
