At the inquest on the body of John McDougall, killed by being run over by a goods train at Eaiapoi yesterday, the jury returned a verdict that the deceased met his death by an accident, through slipping on the rails, and that no blame was to be attached to anyone. The Supreme Court has been occupied yesterday and to day with the charges of sheep stealing against Gilbert and Robert , Lennox. The case is still unfinished. Auckland, February 21. Gold valued at £11,800 was shipped to Sydney in the Elingamite by the Natio- , nal Bank of New Zealand. A man named Ccnnell was committed for trial on two charges of forgery. The New Zealand Library Association now numbers 76 members. Bishop Cowie was elected in the last batch of new members. The election of officers takes place when the roll reaches 100. . Ham was found guilty of stealing a quantity of building material from houses in the course of construction. He was remanded for sen'ence. Mr and Mrs T. Archey, of the Paparoa School, Auckland, have been appointed to the Birminghem Industrial School. Mr Archey was from 1880 to 1883 headmas* ter of the Leeds School Board Industrial School, and from 1883 to 1893 headmaster of the York School. He has firstclass recommendations from the Inspectors of the district.
