Ex Treasurer Ward m Sydney.

Telegraph. Press Association. Copyright Sydney, December 19. Mr Ward, ex New Zealand Treasurer, interviewed, said that New Zealand was never more prosperous in almost every branch of| industry and com merce. Tbe harvest promises to be one of tbe best and largest even known. Tbe so-called Socialist legislation has been tbe result of wise obervation, and so far as could be judged all has gone in tbe ri&ht direction. He spoke of tbe mighty results of the conciliation and early closing legislation. He considers tbe old age pension scheme will have a good effect and add to tbe healthy tone of social fabrics generally, and so prove in time to be a remedy to its own apparent defect in tbe matter of cost. Though New Zealand has much interest in federation tbe feeling generally was iv favor of keeping out of any Australian federal scheme.
