DATES OF NOMINATIONS AND ACCEPTANCES. Nominaticns for all handicaps must be in the hands of the Secretary, at the Waitara "Hotel, on Thursday, October 13th, not later than 9 p.m accompanied with the name, ago. pedigree, colours, and performances of horse. Telegraph Office closes at 5 p.m. Handicaps appear on Saturday, October 22nd. Acceptances and general entries on Thursday, October 27th, except for Welter, which acceptances are due after the Clifton Stakes ETJLES AND EEGULATIQffS. Definition of a hack — A hack means a horse that has never one an advertised race of any description (Hack, Hunter and Ponies llaces excepted) and is not nominated for any race other than Hack Eace at time of start. Five per cent will be deducted from the stakes towards defraying expenses. Jockeys must be clean and well dressed or will be liable to a fine of L 5 for infringement of this rule All races to be run under the Eules of Bacing, as adopted by the Metropolitan Club of New Zealand. Ail horses to be ridden in colors; same to accompany acceptances and general entries. JSo entry or nomination will be re« ceived except under these conditions : — Tb at all disputes, claims and objections arising shall be decided by a majority of the Stewards present, or whom they may appoint, and their decision upon all points connected with the carrying out of this programme shall be final, except in cases of appeal provided for by the Eules of Eacing. Horses walking over will only receive 50 per cent of the Stakes. The neces« sary amount in cash must accompany all nominations and acceptances. The Committee reserves the r ght of postponing the date of meeting, notnina* tions and acceptances, also weights, should they deem it fit to do so.
