The Manawatu Times saj's:— " A squad of the Mounted Rifles proceeded to on Friday and took part in the welcome to Lord and Lady Ranfurly and suite. Those who were responsible for tbe carrying out of tbe arrangements committed a breach of etiquette which has caused considerable adverse comment. A luncheon was held to which the officers of the Feilding corps were invited, but tbe officers belonging to the Manawatu squad were completely ignored." Our contemporary is in 3rror. Tbe officers and men of tbe Vlauawatu Mounted Rifles wero the quests of the Reception Committee. As o tbe luncheon, placea were reserved for the officers of the Manawatu Rifles, but tbe Manchester Rifles were not juests as tbey purchased tbeir own ickets. Before tbey left FeildiDg Caprain Dunk, Lieuts. Pringle and Aldricb, expressed much pleasure at the way in wbich tbey and their men bad been received.
