FEILDING DEFEATS WANGANUI.
A very enjoyable and interesting match took place on the Feilding Bowling Green yesterday between three nnks from the Wanganui Club and three from the local club. There was a large attendance of visitors, including a number of ladies. The green was in capital order, and gave every satisfaction to the players. Great interest was taken in the play at the several rinks, and all through the match Feildmg had a good lead, finally wiuniug by 9 points in the aggregate. Mr Saywell's team defeated Mr Moults team by 22 to 15, Mr C. Bray's (junr) team defeated Mr Rod well's team by 22 to 14, while Mr Young's team lost to Mr PurneU's team, the latter scoring 27 to the former's 21 At the conclusion of the game Mr W. Bailey, President of the Feilding Club, called for cheers for the vistors, which was heartily given. Mr Spurdle, President of the Wanganui Club, responded, and thanked the Feilding Club for the cordial reception they had accorded the Wanganui players. After referring to the capital green the Feilding Club possessed, Mr Spurdle concluded his remarks by inviting the Feilding Club to visit Wanganui during the present season.
