Borough Elections.
The election to till the three ordinary racancies in the Borough Council was leld yesterday at the Council Chambers, >ut little or no interest was taken in the ■esult of the poll. The retiring Councillor ivere Messrs E. Goodbehere, \V. Reid and M f. W. Bramwell, the two former ofteriug " themselves for re-election. Three now t candidates came forward in the persons of n Messrs R. F. Haybittle, \V. Dickson and " H. Woolven. There are 378 ratepayers M on the burgess roll who have 490 votes, tl Yesterday 123 persons recorded 192 votes, " two of which were informal. The poll c resulted in Messrs Goodbehere, Haybittle b and Dickson being returned. The follow- ii ing are the positions of the respective h candidates : — d Votes. a Goodbehere, E 146 j Haybittle, R. HO g Woolven, H 50 r f (Per Press Association.) c Wellington, Sept 9. 1 At the Municipal elections to-day, 1 Myers and Willeßton, for Thorndon and 1 Lambton Wards respectively, were re- \ turned unopposed. In Cook and Te Aro c Wards, candidates opposed to the Mayor's t scheme, were rejected, and Fraser and c Barber were re-elected. 1 Christchubch, Sept. 9. ( The following have been elected for the ( Christchurch City Council : — Messrs C. t M. Gray, C. D. Morris, T. Kincaid, and i W. E. Samuels. 1 Dunbdin, September 9. The retiring Councillors were defeated in two wards of the city where contests took place, Mr Peter Millar beating Mr McGregor by a majority of 296 for the High Ward,' Mr .7. A. Park beating Mr J. B. Thompson by 336 for the Bell Ward.
