WELLINGTON PRODUCE MARKETS.
Messrs A. G. Tame and Co. report for the week ending 20th August, as follows : Fat sheep— Wethers, lis 6d to 12s 6d ; ewes, 9s to 10s. Fat cattle— Market well supplied. Bullocks £6 to £7, for prime beef is worth 14s 6d to 15s per lOOlbs. Store sheep — Market is sluggish and South Island demand has at present fallen off. Store wethers, 9s to 10s 6d ; ewes in lamb, 8a to 9s. We require several lives of good wetbers for .delivery in six weeks' time, and could place from four to six thousand store cattle. A fair enquiry exists for young cattle. Prices run for 3yr old steers £3 to £4 ; two year old cattle. _2 to „ 15s ; yearlings and calves, 10s to 30s. We require a line of 200 head of 1 to 2yr old well bred cattle and invite parti* culars from those desirous of selling. Pigs are in better demand now tbat tbe factories are about opening and at I onr sales all lotß bave been well competed for. Sheepskins are still coming in plentifully and prices firm, and at our weekly sales ran as follows ; Best dry crossbreds 5d to 5Jd ; medium, 4d ; inferior and badly saved, 3d to 3£d per lb. Hides— Very few heavies in the market up to 4Jd can be obtained for very best. Others, 2Jd to 4d per lb according to qnality. Chaff keeps firm, and best we quote up to 90s per ton ; medium and discolored, 70s to 85s. Oats are a little slack. Prime feed, 2s 8d to 2s 9d ; medium to 2s 6d per bushel, '
