Colonial Rifle Team to go Home.
I Per Press Association] Wellington, This Day. A deputation of local Tolunteer officers waited on the Defence Minister urging Government assistance in sending a team of riflemen to Bisley. The deputation suggested the Government grant £ for £ subrcribed by the public. Mr Thompson said, personally, the project had his sympathy, but the question was one which must be considered by the Cabinet on the return of the Premier. It is understood that half the amount necessary to send Welliugton representatives is already guaranteed. Dunedin, March 8. The Otago Hussars have selected Ser* geaut Allan and Troopers, Freeman, Grieve, and W. Htizleit to form Dart of the English contingent. They will leave for Wellington on Friday. At a parade of the Dunedin City Guards to-night the question ot subscribing to Bend a rifle team to England was brought up by Captain Smith, when £16 2s 2d was promised.
