At a meeting of the City Council the Mayor stated that he had written to Lord Brassey inviting him to deliver an address in Auckland on Imperial Fed* eration prior to his return to Victoria. The Councillors agreed the lecture would be most interesting and that the Mayor should use his own discretion in the matter.
