Welsh, who has accepted an appointment north of Auckland under the Education Department, has decided on the change chiefly on account of his wife's bad health. Their many friends will be sorry to lose the services of Mr and Mrs Welsh, the former having taken an active part in public affairs tending to promote the prosperity of the township and was secretary to the Pohanpina Hall, Cricket Club and in other honorary capacities, while Mrs Welsh was organist in tbe Wesleyan Church and assisted on many occasions in arranging concerts and to some extent her illness is due to the overwork and anxiety in tbat respect.
