Agricultural Shows.
(Per Press Association.) Dunedin, Nov. 26. Beautiful weather prevailed to-day for the second day of tbe A. and P. Society's Show. There must have been fully 14,000 present. New Plymouth, Nov. 26. The Taranaki A. and P. Show to-day was very successful. (Canterbury Times.) Very shortly after the judging was finished on Thursday Mr G. P. Pulley's four-tooth Shropshire ram Cucullus, highly- commended in bis class, was sold to Sir George Clifford, at a substantial figure. Mr T. E. Upton received very tempting offers for his second prize ewe (by Coxon), with her ram lamb by the Beach ram imported by Mr G. G. Stead, but be thought the little one wonld be of great value to him. Shropsbires, in face, were the one breed of sheep in which buyers were more anxious than sellers. The judges passed by Mr Henry Over* ton's Lincoln ram hoggets, but sbeepbreeders recognised their quality and their owner had the solace of being offered lOOgs each for two of them, while the price put on the winner in the class, was, I hear, half that figure. Something similar occurred in the 4 tooth class, Mr C. Witbell selling two of his unnoticed rams at 50gs each. One of these was first as a two tooth every* xtbere he was shown except Christchurch and cat 321bc» of wool last year ; the other was champion at Timarn this year. Air Withell also sold a ram hog^efc, unnoticed, at 25gs, to the same North Islaud buyer.
