The Matabele Rising.

(Per Preas Association.) Capetown, May 28. Colonel Fraser Las defeated a third impi. The troopers carried the position at a gallop and the natives lost heavily. Mr Rhodes expects a decisive battle to be fought shortly. Captain Napier's flying column, three hundred strong, defeated fifteen hundred natives. He co* operates with 600 troops from Fort Salisbury for the purpose of driving the Matabeles from the Matoppo hills. Mr Rhodes has promised that the Chartered Company will compensate settlers, form a strong permanent police, and build forts for the protection of the inhabitants. He specially thanked the Afrikander corps and promised to allot burghers land.
