Feilding School Committee.

-•- • The regular monthly meeting of the Feilding State School Committee was held last evening. Present— Messrs W. Carthew (in the chair), A. W. Parker (secretary), W. G. Haybittle, J. Taylor, J. Gould, R. J. Thorupson, and W. G. Shearer. The minutes ot the previous meeting were read and confirmed. An apology was received from Mr C. Bray, junr., for non attendance at this meeting. Accounts ameunting to £4 4s were passed for payment. The headmaster being absent owing to the death of his mother, the assistant master, Mr H. C. Stewart, reported that the average attendance for the quarter ending March 31st was 330, the average for the past twoweeks being 3207. It was resolved, on the motion of Mr Haybittle, seconded by Mr Taylor, That the balance of the amount (£5 19s) from the concert, etc., in the bank, be drawn and placed to a separate account in the bank for a future treat for the children. It was resolved, on the motion of Mr Shearer, seconded by Mr Gould, That a vote of thanks be accorded to Messrs Palmer and Co. for their kind gift of confectionery for the children's picnic ; and that the secretary be instructed to send Messrs Palmer and Co. a copy of this resolution. Eesolved, on the motion of Mr Shearer, seconded by Mr Haybittle, That a letter of condolence be sent to the headmaster, Mr J. C. Hill, sympathising with him in his sad bereavement. Messrs Carthew and "Worsfold were appointed a visiting committee for the ensuing month and the committee adjourned.
