Counties Conference.
(Per Press Association). Wellington, This Day. At the Counties' Conference, Mr MeNab's motion with reference to the borrowing powers of local bodies was agreed to after a long discussion. A motion by Mr Yon Keden, that County Councils should have power to levy ageneral rate not exceediug £d in the £ for the purpose of creating a fund for the restoration of bridges on County roads, was agreed to. A resolution was carried ihat the Government be requested to pay rates ok all State Farms. At the Counties' Conference yesterday in Wellington, Mr Dickin was elected a member of the executive committee, representing Pohangina.
