Musical Festival.
The practice at the Bible Christian Church in connection with the Sunday School Festival on Thursday night, nt Palmerston, was very successful, all the choruses going well. One of the gems will be a song, " Aye Maria," the accompaniment being arranged for violin, violoncello, organ and piano, composed by Signor Mascherom for Adelina Patti. Miss A Mowlem will sing, " I know that My Redeemer Liveth," (Messiah), Mr Eocbelle " Behold 1 stand at the Door," Mr Kendall •' Eternal Rest," Miss Goodey " Calvary." Mr Percival will contribute a violin solo, and there will also be a violin solo by Master Cliff Mowlem. There will be several ten-minutes' speeches by Ministers and Mr George Grant. The voices number from 150 to 200, with a powerful orchestra including two organs and a piano. Everj' choir in the town is giving assistance more or less and the Salvation Army Barracks have been kindly lent for the ocsassion. Thus every denomination in town is helping the movement forward. The object is to obtain funds to build a young men's room for Bible class purposes, etc. The festival will be held on Thursday next, and a large audience is expected — Standard.
