London Bank of Australia.

iPEK PRESS ASSOCIATION I . London, May 27. At a meeting of the London Bank of Australia, Sir J. F. Garrick said there was a reasonable hope of steady, if slow, improvement iv the affairs of the institution. The Chairman said their liquid resources amounted to one million and a half. The rate of interest obtainable in Australia had materially declined since the reconstruction of the Banks, and this had effected their earning powers, but they had still been able to pay the fixed rate on extended deposits and had also repaid £1,200,000 of deposits in advance. _ mmmmammm _=_„ ___
