The Timber Industry.
WARNING TO SAWMILLERS. (Per Peess Association). London, May 27. Mr Freyberg, New Zealand timber expert, reports that inequality in sizes of colonial timber blocks is due to loose methods in sawing, and points out this defect is damaging prospects of the trade here. Sydney, May 28. Orders have been received by cable to load three ships with 600,000 ft of hardwood timber each, and despatch the vessels to London at intervals of a month. Unfortunately tuo coastal mills are unable to cope "with such a large order, but the first vessel will be loaded and despatched shortly, and an effort will be made to complete the order later on.
