Poll for Municipal Building Loan
The poll on the proposal to raise a loan of £900 for the purpose of constructing Municipal buildings at the ■ corner of Stafford street and Kimbolton road was taken yesterday and resulted in favor of the proposal. Considerable interest was taken in the , voting during the clay, and a good j number of ratepayers anxiously con- j gregated around the polling booth, when the poll had closed, to hear the fate of the loan, and when the Clerk declared the poll carried the announcement was received with cheers. Following are the numbers of votes polled : — VOTES No. of burgesses on the roll 368 Representing ... 472 No. of burgesses in favor of the proposal 195 Representing ... 277 No. of burgesses against the proposal 13 Representing ... 13 No. of voters required to carry the proposal ... 185 Representing ... 237
