\ . ,Q , , [From Our Own Correspondent." A meeting of the Apiti Augcis Football Club took place on Saturday last, in Eagar's Town Hall, Mr Kaj^ar in the chair. A very large number attended, aud the following business was transacted. The election of delegates re suited as follows — Me-srs (ieo. Fisher aud E. Byrnes were appointed to represent the Club at the Birmingham Conference re Bush Union. The Secretary was instructed to obtain copies euou^h to supply the Club v>itli the Football Rules and Bye-laws. The next meeting's bu.-iness will be to elect Captain and officers, match committee, collect subscriptions, and general. It was resolved, That the Club's uniform be jersey and white trousers and stockings. A (jnadi-ille party has been formed, aud will take place on Saturday next, at 7.^0 p.m., in .Eagar's Town Hall, and will be continued every Saterday evening during the winter. Our Christy Minstrel Troupe, under the direction of 3lr J. Turner, has been practising very regularly, and, as a consequence, we may expect to see a sccond-to-none entertainment on the 24th instant. Their persevering and energetic manager, Mr.J. Turner, seconded by members of the troupe, deserve every success considering the difficulties under which they have had to struggle. Our worth}' storekeeper has taken the first step towards founding sports, by clearing and stumping a piece of ground, the object of which he intends to devote to sports should he be supportocl by the settlers as he deserves to be, then Apiti need not complain in the matter of sports grounds. A meeting of the Apiti Cemetery Committee was held in slr (.Juj''s liall ou Maj' 6th. Present — Messrs Gould (in the chair), Osborne, Cummerh'cld, Nix, C. Millcn and Webb. Tenders were received for clearing and fencing one acre and the tender of Mr A. Dick was accepted for the sum of X'l4 12s <ld.
