Football Notes.

(Per Press Association.) Wellington', May 6. The first mooting of the Management Coinrmtteo of the Rugby Union since the annual meeting of delegates was held this afternoon. The Queensland Union wrote that the team leave Brisbane for New Zealand about August, and asking whether it would be suitable. It was decided to strongly urge the Queensland team to leave Brisbane at least a fortnight earlier, coming from Sydney to Auckland and returning via Bluff and Melbourne The question of a proposed visit of a team from the English Ucion to New Zoaland and other colonial union?, was considered, and it was decided to leave the matter in tha hands of Mr Logan to consider with the English Uniou in England. A match, Pohangina v. Suburban, took place at Pohangina township on Saturday last,* and resulted in a win for the former by 1 1 points to 8. In the first spell Johnson scored a try for the former, and Ross secured a try for the latter, which was conveited by Lucas. In the second half Johnson and Erwin secured tries for the town, one of which was converted, and Watson scored a try for the Suburban, but no goal resulted. Mr Gr. Adsett, President of the Pohangina Club, presented them with a ball. A match will be played on the Oval to-morrow, between the Feilding II and Pirates 11. Play commeßces at 3 pm- sharp, and sixpence will be charged for admission. The Red Stars play Palmerston II at Palmerston to-morrow. The following will represent the Stars, viz., Mingins, A. Foster, J. Smith, Hurdle, Jas. Evans, Bnnkman, John Evans. Smith (2), Dowdle, A. Martin, J. Rosanian, Parkes, A. Beechey, Dempsey. Emergency — Hamilton. The coach will leave the Square at 1 o'clock sharp. The Red Stars wish to tender their thanks to Mr W. Carthew fur the present of a football. The members of the Senior team of the Feilding Football Club are requested to lend their jerseys to the junior players for to-morrow's match, and they would oblige by leaving them with the Secretary as early as possible. The Pirates Seniors will play Feilding Seniors on the Oval on Saturday next.
