Labour Day Demonstration.
(Per Press Association. Dunedin, October 10. To-day was pretty generally observed as a holiday on the occasion of Labour Day. Tbe day was beautifully fine and the streets were thronged in the morning by holiday makers. The procession was more imposing than last year, as there were more trade displays, but the number who took part was not so large as on the first year of the demonstration. Sports were held on the Caledonian grounds The Labor Day Handicap, two distances, was won by J. M. Gordon, with T. Ross second and M. J Davidson third. In the bicycle race McKenzie met with an accident and had to be taken to the hospital.
