WOOL REMAINS ON FREE LIST. [fee prkss association. I Washington, August 9. The Democratic Tariff Conference Committee has agreed to a compromise upon the tariff. Forty per cent, ad valorem on raw sugar is to be retained, and iron ore is to come in free. Coal will be subjected to a sliding scale for five years, ami will then be admitted free. Wool remains on the free list.
